5-Year Reinert Guarantee

We provide a voluntary five-year guarantee on all new and used acoustic upright and grand pianos sold by Reinert, provided the instrument is located in Germany.

Our guarantee covers the entire instrument and is provided in addition to your statutory rights, which remain unaffected.

2. Guarantee Period and Territorial Scope

The guarantee is valid for five years from the date the instrument is handed over to the purchaser.

It applies to all new and used acoustic upright and grand pianos sold by Reinert whose agreed installation location is within Germany.

The guarantee applies while the instrument remains located in Germany. Relocation within Germany does not terminate the guarantee.

Instruments installed outside Germany are not covered by this voluntary five-year guarantee unless expressly agreed otherwise.

3. Scope of Coverage

The guarantee covers the entire instrument, including the action, keyboard, soundboard, pinblock, and all other acoustic, mechanical, and structural components.

Coverage includes defects in materials or workmanship and failures to meet expressly guaranteed characteristics arising during the guarantee period.

For used instruments, the condition documented at the time of purchase is taken into account.

4. Exclusions

The voluntary guarantee does not cover:

  • Regular piano tuning and routine maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear resulting from age or use.
  • Damage caused by unsuitable environmental conditions or substantial fluctuations in temperature or humidity.
  • Damage caused by external force, improper handling, accidents, or misuse.
  • Damage caused by natural events, including storms, flooding, earthquakes, and similar events.
  • Damage caused by improperly performed tuning, maintenance, repairs, regulation, or other work for which Reinert is not responsible.

An exclusion applies only to the extent that the relevant circumstance caused or contributed to the damage concerned. Unrelated guarantee claims remain unaffected.

5. Professional Maintenance and Tuning

To maintain the instrument in proper condition, professional tuning at least once per year is recommended as part of the guarantee requirements.

Tuning may be carried out by Reinert or another appropriately qualified piano technician.

Records of tuning and maintenance, such as invoices or service reports, should be retained.

Using another qualified piano technician does not invalidate the guarantee. Missing or improperly performed maintenance affects coverage only to the extent that it caused or contributed to the defect concerned.

6. Guarantee Services and Costs

Where a defect is covered by this voluntary guarantee, Reinert will bear all costs reasonably necessary to remedy that defect.

These include:

  • Professional inspection and diagnosis.
  • Necessary repairs, including labor and replacement parts.
  • Adjustments and regulation required in connection with the repair.
  • Necessary travel and technician attendance costs.
  • Necessary transportation of the instrument to and from a repair location, where required.

The customer will not incur any costs for a valid guarantee claim.

Where a reported issue is not covered by the guarantee, charges will only arise where separately and validly agreed in advance.

7. How to Make a Guarantee Claim

If you believe your instrument has a defect covered by this guarantee, please contact Reinert and provide the following information where available:

  • Instrument manufacturer and model.
  • Serial number.
  • Date of purchase.
  • Current location of the instrument.
  • Description of the problem.
  • Relevant photographs and service records, if available.

8. Statutory Rights

This five-year guarantee is a voluntary additional commitment by Reinert GmbH & Co. KG.

Your statutory rights against the seller in the event of defective goods remain unaffected by this guarantee and may be exercised free of charge, regardless of whether a claim is covered by the voluntary guarantee.
